What is your background in DJing?
I have been DJing since Fall of 2001, almost 16 years now. My older brother was a DJ and taught me how to mix and I fell in love with it ever since. Soon after he taught me, he gave me his turntables and records which allowed me to start DJing house parties, formals, and club events all throughout college. After college, I continued to DJ the club scene and UC Irvine events until I found my way to DJZ productions!
What are some of the genres you prefer to listen to/play?
When I first started DJing, I learned how to spin House and Trance so that will always be my favorite, but soon learned to spin Hip-Hop when I started doing gigs in SoCal. I enjoy spinning all genres, depending on who I’m playing for. I really feed off the energy of the crowd so whatever can get them moving is what I enjoy playing! When I’m just listening to music, I prefer Deep/Tech House and some good ol’ Jazz music.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
It’s such an honor to be a part of so many couples’ special day, and it is so satisfying when I can contribute to making their wedding a night they’ll never forget. Turning the ballroom dance floor into a raging nightclub will never get old for me!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I train Jiu Jitsu several times a week and really enjoy cooking. I don’t get to go out as much as I used to, but I enjoy dancing, especially to some good Deep House.
